WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
You will play a hands‑on role in keeping our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently by moving finished product and materials across the plant. In this role, you will operate a forklift, support continuous production flow, and perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards. You will work closely with the production team to coordinate changeovers, resolve issues, and maintain equipment performance, while contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities & Areas of Focus
Forklift Operations & Material Handling
*Safely operate a sit‑down forklift to transport finished and non‑conforming product throughout the plant.
*Move wallboard, raw materials, and equipment components to designated locations on a continuous production line.
*Manage and organize finished product staging areas and end‑of‑line materials.
Production Line Support
*Remove material from production equipment to maintain continuous workflow and prevent downtime.
*Coordinate product changeovers and communicate with the production team to ensure smooth transitions.
*Monitor and operate equipment using HMI systems while maintaining awareness of process performance.
Quality Inspection & Issue Resolution
*Perform routine Level 1 quality inspections on finished product.
*Identify, communicate, and escalate quality concerns using established processes.
*Ensure proper sorting, labeling, and disposition of materials, including refeed and non‑conforming product.
Equipment Monitoring & Basic Maintenance
*Conduct frequent inspections of equipment and maintain operational readiness.
*Support cleaning, inspection, and minor maintenance activities during downtime and autonomous maintenance routines.
Data Tracking & Documentation
*Maintain manual logs of finished products and waste materials.
*Track and communicate operational issues using area boards and reporting tools.

Qualifications
*Minimum Requirements
*High school diploma or GED
*Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
*Minimum 1 year experience operating a forklift (sit-down industrial truck)
*Ability to work in a fast‑paced, continuous manufacturing setting with minimal supervision
*Basic math and reading skills to track production, complete logs, and follow work instructions
*Ability to perform routine quality inspections and follow established procedures
*Willingness and ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
*Strong attention to safety, with the ability to follow plant safety rules and procedures
*Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Preferred Qualifications
*Familiarity with production line operations and automated equipment (HMI systems)
*Experience performing basic equipment checks, cleaning, or autonomous maintenance tasks
*Knowledge of continuous improvement practices such as 5S or World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
*Experience identifying and resolving basic quality or production issues
