WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Associate Material Planner plays a key role in supporting day-to-day material planning, supply chain coordination, and manufacturing planning activities. This position is primarily responsible for ERP-driven material planning, production support, and schedule execution, ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing requirements. The role provides transactional support through the accurate creation of purchase orders in alignment with approved plans and established procedures.
Working closely with production and plant operations teams, the Associate Material Planner supports the execution of material strategies, maintains system accuracy, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and cost control. This role focuses on internal coordination and execution.
In addition, this position is responsible for the scheduling, planning, and execution of manufacturing work orders, with accountability for developing, maintaining, and executing production schedules within assigned value streams or areas. The Associate Material Planner collaborates closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to monitor and balance material availability, equipment capacity, machine utilization, and labor resources to support uninterrupted production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Run ERP/MRP reports to identify material needs and support decision-making
  • Create, maintain, and monitor purchase orders; ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate PO dates and supplier acknowledgements in ERP systems
  • Manage Kanban inventory levels and respond to demand fluctuation
  • Analyze safety stock and reorder points
  • Monitor demand using ERP tools
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve supply chain issues
  • Create production schedules for operations. Analyze, determine usage, and release materials to meet production schedules, customer deadlines, and inventory goals.
  • Coordinate, expedite, schedule changes, and expedite jobs as required.
  • Send daily sales order acknowledgements to customer service
  • Maintain raw material, WIP, and Finished Goods inventories to be appropriately responsive to Sales and Work Orders within turn objectives and dollar levels.
  • Support forecasting activity by participating in forecast review meetings and provide feedback to supervisor as required.
  • Leverage internal digital tools and reporting systems to support data-driven decision-making and track procurement performance
  • Support cost savings goals and sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction and recycling programs
  • Prepare reports for management, as required
  • Develop and document best practices

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or business related preferred

Certifications:
ASCM/APICS certification preferred

Experiences:
1-3 years experience with Microsoft Office

Experience with ERP systems (QAD, SAP, Oracle)

Experience drafting SOP's, work instructions and process documentation
