Supply Chain Manager, External Operations & Circular Economy

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Supply Chain Manager, External Operations & Circular Economy is accountable for defining and executing SPG's end-to-end supply chain strategy and operating rhythm across a wide network of third-party vendors that perform critical manufacturing and transformation steps for SPG's most critical products. This includes (1) recyclers who process scrap PVC collected from jobsites and distributors, (2) third-party painters/pre-finishers who paint SPG hardboard siding, and (3) toll laminators who laminate foam or vinyl backers to panels.
This role ensures reliable capacity, scheduling discipline, material flow visibility, and service performance across external partners by integrating demand signals, production/processing plans, logistics execution, and inventory targets. The role serves as the primary supply chain interface between SPG and these vendors, working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Quality, Product Management, Customer Service, Transportation, and Sales to deliver high service levels while optimizing total delivered cost and working capital. 
Essential Functions:
1. Circular Economy Program Strategy: responsible for creating and leading the Siding business's Circular Economy strategy, ensuring recycled materials are sourced, processed, and reintegrated into operations in a way that supports both sustainability and business growth. The position owns the program's financial performance, manages partnerships with recyclers, suppliers, and customers, oversees logistics and material flows, and drives new business opportunities to expand the use of recycled PVC materials across the organization
2. Third-Party Capacity Planning, Scheduling, and Execution: responsible for developing and executing production and capacity plans across external vendors, ensuring supplier capabilities align with business demand while proactively managing capacity risks and supply continuity. The position drives vendor scheduling, performance management, and process standardization, while supporting new product introductions, process changes, and operational recovery plans to ensure reliable delivery and service levels.
3. Materials Flow, Inventory Strategy, and Logistics Execution: manages end-to-end material flow, inventory strategy, and logistics across external processing partners to ensure reliable supply, cost optimization, and customer service performance. The position also oversees planning data integrity and collaborates with transportation, 3PLs, and internal teams to maintain efficient operations and accurate system visibility.
 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

·    Bachelors Degree  in  Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field: Required; MBA Preferred.
·    7-10 years experience with contract manufacturing / tolling / external processing networks and vendor capacity modeling and management: Required
·    7-10 years Strong S&OP background, Capacity planning, detailed scheduling, logistics coordination, and operational problem-solving: Required
 
Additional skills needed:
·    Microsoft Office Excel/Outlook/Word/PPT
·    Strong quantitative and analytical skills (scenario modeling, constraint-based thinking, tradeoff recommendations).
·    Demonstrated experience managing complex operating rhythms (S&OP/PSI-style cycles, weekly scheduling, and execution control)
·    Proven ability to create and implement multi-year supply strategies, measure progress, and constantly refine and adjust approach through relevant data I the best interest of the customer and the business
·    Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and influence decisions without direct authority.
