WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Position will provide support to programs at the Granville, NY location, within the defined World Class manufacturing framework, in a manner consistent with the Principles of Conduct and Action of Saint-Gobain.

Responsible for the timely sampling, testing, and reporting of results to certify products against applicable automotive, customer, and internal specifications. The role ensures the effectiveness of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems through the maintenance and continuous improvement of visual standards, the calibration and maintenance of QA and QC testing equipment, and the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of quality-related databases and test methods.

Responsibilities also include administering the document control system, conducting quality onboarding and training for new employees, and providing technical support for quality improvement initiatives.

The position supports quality investigations, including customer returns (RMA), process validations, audits, and corrective actions.

Additionally, the role serves as the primary backup for Quality Control Technicians and the Raw Materials Laboratory and actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including KPI monitoring, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities, SPC, MSA, and process capability studies, as well as customer and ISO quality requirements, under the direction of the Quality Manager.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.

  • Sample, collect, prepare, test, certify, and report products against automotive OEM, global, internal, and customer specifications; create certificates, summary reports, and maintain testing records/databases.
  • Provide QC/Raw Materials lab backup coverage. Conduct onboarding/training for new hires. Maintain and coordinate verification, calibration, preventive maintenance for QA & QC lab equipment. Maintain QA lab readiness.

  • Support QMS effectiveness through document activation, user administration, record maintenance. Perform and support data-driven Quality QC data audits. Manage visual/qualitative standards.

  • Investigate/troubleshoot abnormal test data and method variance for QC & QA lab. RMA/RCCA containment, investigation, and corrective action support. Test and inspection methods improvements. Support production trials, new product transition, and process validations.

  • Support WCM, Quality KPIs, continuous improvement and other Quality initiatives. Support assurance activities including SPC, MSA and capability studies, auditing.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Required- High School Diploma with three to five or more years of relevant technical work experience or associate degree in technical field with at least one year of relevant technical work experience.

Preferred- Associates Degree

  • Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment. Will substitute for equivalent work experience. - Required
  • Demonstrated experience executing testing procedures and utilizing laboratory equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures.- Required
  • Demonstrated laboratory testing experience with a high attention to detail, including application of risk-based thinking.- Required
  • Demonstrate expertise in document control systems- Required
  • Expertise in SPC, MSA, capability studies, audits, RMA/customer complaint support, corrective action processes- Preferred
  • Knowledge of Saint-Gobain products and specifications- Preferred
  • Internal audit experience- Preferred

Pay Transparency:

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $28.00- $35.00 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate and Bonus annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $64,000 to $80,000.
