WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

As the Safety Manager, the incumbent serves as the subject matter expert on all matters impacting health and safety (H&S) at the Seven Hills paperboard mill.

This position is a key member of the Plant Leadership Team and advises all levels of the organization, from management to operations, on health and safety matters.

The Safety Manager is responsible for building and sustaining H&S processes, programs, and culture through collaboration and empowerment of both managers and employees.

This is accomplished by working closely with corporate EHS area managers and site leadership to develop, coordinate, and execute all H&S functions. These efforts ensure alignment with Regional and Business (Group) objectives in the areas of health and safety. The Safety Manager is also responsible for developing the site H&S competency roadmap and enhancing overall site capabilities, competencies, and regulatory compliance.

Some specific expectations of the Safety Manager include:

• Provide hands-on safety leadership, coaching, and training to hourly and salaried employees

• Identify and correct potential hazards through inspection of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment

• Perform data entry and manage reporting within corporate EHS systems (GAIA, 4orms, Monday.com, Teamwork, etc.)

• Lead administration of 4orms for safety actions and metrics, including training users and maintaining compliance reporting

• Analyze H&S data to support the Health & Safety Pillar and drive objective setting, implementation, and results• Investigate incidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses using root cause analysis (RCA) to determine causes and prevention methods

• Conduct employee interviews to evaluate work conditions, incident causes, and effectiveness of corrective actions

• Continuously evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA, governmental regulations, and Saint-Gobain standards

• Develop and promote behavioral-based safety initiatives to drive an autonomous safety culture

• Conduct audits against Saint-Gobain Safety Standards and ensure compliance• Interface with regulatory agencies and maintain all required H&S permits

• Maintain and oversee the H&S training program to ensure compliance with OSHA and Saint-Gobain standards

• Conduct risk assessments with salaried and hourly employees and implement mitigation strategies• Develop and execute safety risk reduction project plans• Communicate corporate safety alerts and evaluate applicability to the site• Serve as an active member of U.S. EHS teams

• Ensure CertainTeed IPG safety standards are incorporated into processes and equipment using WCM/EHS principles

• Support project teams during the delivery and commissioning phases of equipment and capital projects

• Partner with departments to support 5S systems and housekeeping initiatives• Enforce plant rules and safety regulations in alignment with corporate Values and Attitudes

• Partner with the IPG EHS Area Manager and HR to support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs

• Maintain industrial hygiene standards in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

• Lead safety campaigns and initiatives (EHS Day, Protect Every You, Safety Kaizen, GEMBA Walks, etc.)

• Support engineering and capital projects by providing risk assessments and safety guidance

• Drive the SMAT program at the plant level• Deliver safety onboarding training for new employees in compliance with OSHA and Saint-Gobain standards

• Lead and support the plant safety committee

• Develop site H&S objectives in coordination with the Plant Manager Support contractor safety training, risk assessments, and on-site compliance

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Relevant Work Experience   Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field    Required, Safety Management
  •  5+ years of experience in safety management, EHS management, or related experience in manufacturing, paper, gypsum, heavy industry, or a similar industrial environment    Required Safety Leadership
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams on safety programs, audits, investigations, and compliance initiatives  
  • Required Safety Coaching    Experience coaching leaders and employees in a hands-on production setting
  • Preferred Unionized Manufacturing Environment  Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment  
  • OSHA 10/30, CSP, ASP, CIH, NFPA, or other relevant safety certifications,  Knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigation, root cause analysis, machine guarding (3+ years), risk assessment, industrial hygiene, emergency response planning, ergonomics, and contractor safety.  
  • Required Strong communication, training, data analysis, and cross-functional partnership skills.  
  • Required Ability to work effectively with hourly employees, salaried leaders, union representatives, and corporate support teams.    Required

Press Assistant - 1st Shift

Summary

The Press Assistant is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of press equipment used in panel production. This position ensures that all products meet strict quality standards. The operator will monitor system performance, perform cleaning and maintenance of press plates and equipment, and assist with troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production flow.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor the press equipment using Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Maintain a strong focus on panel surface quality. Inspecting panels throughout production to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Clean and maintain press plates regularly to prevent buildup and surface defects.
  • Record production data and report any quality or process deviations promptly.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with press systems to reduce downtime.
  • Use basic hand and power tools for cleaning, adjustments, and minor maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with machine setup and maintenance.
  • Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators as required.
  • Safely perform duties in confined spaces in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Actively targets and tracks construction projects from planning through bidding phases to maximize closing rates using company provided tools.
  • Builds, maintains and adds value to relationships between customers and CT's organization; customers include all audiences, including owners, specifiers, contractors, distributors, etc.
  • Conducts and participates in sales promotions and educational meeting with architects, contractors, builders and builder sales representative, applicators, distributors and other trade factors.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

 Bachelor's degree in architecture, marketing, business or similar discipline. OR Comparable experience in lieu of a degree - Five (5) years of equivalent training and experience that provides thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations and practices concerned with the field of construction
  • 4+ years of applied professional experience which includes managing customer relationships, sales presentations and closings of sales
  • Knowledge of residential construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build quality relationships through networking.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $104,400 to $156,600.
