Plant Quality Manager - Manufacturing; Life Sciences

Why do we need you?

The Plant Quality Manager will be accountable to ensure the Quality Management System is implemented per requirements and to report areas of concern to Management. The Plant Quality Manager will be expected to ensure the plant remains in full compliance will regulatory requirements and ISO:13485 requirements as they pertain to the plant, customer specifications, and corporate quality procedures. This role will also be responsible for managing Quality department personnel at the site, including Quality Lab, Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, and Site Cleanroom Monitoring and Control.

Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements (ISO14644).

Job Functions:

  • Execution and oversight of a Quality Management System that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements (ISO:13485) and industry guidance.
  • Execution of document control and review/approval of controlled documents.
  • Execution and maintenance of ECO process including change management and review of all change controls.
  • Execution and maintenance of supplier quality management and performance of supplier audits as appropriate.
  • Complaint management including robust root cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Ensure robust root cause analysis investigation and CAPA for deviations and nonconforming product.
  • Implementation of an effective Internal Audit Program.
  • Ensure adequate training program is in place.
  • Oversight of applicable Validation Master Plan including equipment, process, product, sterilization, and test methods.
  • Oversight of quality control laboratory and review/approval of quality control testing.
  • Execution of cleanroom practices including qualification, monitoring, and behavior.
  • Responsible for maintenance and expansion of the Global QMS e-tool (ETQ) at the plant.
  • Facilitate management review process including implementation of a metrics control plan to measure and monitor the health of the Quality Management System, Manufacturing System, and Supply Chain.
  • Oversight and Maintenance of Site Sterility Program
  • Customer Management including facilitating/hosting customer audits, ensuring robust and effective corrective action to customer audit observations, reviewing/approving quality agreements with customers, partnering in the resolution of quality issues and requests for information by initiating effective interdepartmental communication, managing ISO certification and maintenance of certification.

Execute talent management activities with direct reports. Ensure proper performance management, training, and development of direct/indirect reports

Is this job for you?

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering-Preferred, or Life Sciences-related field (Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology); required.
  • Master’s Degree in MBA or equivalent; preferred.
  • ASQ Certifications desirable (CQE, CQM, CQA); preferred.
  • ISO 13485 or Medical device experience; required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulated industry with emphasis in life sciences (e.g., pharma, biopharm, or medical device); required.
  • Minimum of 6 years in a Quality function with at least 3 years in a Quality System development and implementation role; required.
  • At least 3 years in a direct supervisory role; preferred.
  • Must be independent, quality, and cost-conscious, with skills in leadership and team building; required.
  • Must have experience in performing risk analysis (e.g., FMEA, FTA, Risk Ranking/Filtering); required.

Architectural Services Manager Commercial-IPG (East)

The Architectural Services Manager – Commercial (ASMC) will work with the Sr Director of Business Development and the FDM commercial sales teams to enhance the job tracking of key projects (multiple IPG BU’s) with key commercial contractors and architects. Essential Functions

  • Compares physical deliveries to packing lists and utilizes radio frequency unit to systematically stock product in bin locations
  • Operating Jungheinrich material handling equipment, specifically the Stand Up Rider Reach Forklift in a safe and efficient manner following the prescribed work methods.
  • Unstacks product on pallets by hand and/or use of clamp truck
  • Utilizes Rider Reach Forklift to store and relocate product in bin locations
  • Using voice pick and/or radio frequency equipment for picking, processing and put-away functions, as required
  • Completing equipment inspections daily and documenting findings on the GEMOne System
  • Follow the Saint-Gobain Golden Rules of safety and all OSHA standards, reporting concerns to the supervisor
  • Perform dock and equipment inspection log sheet at the beginning of every shift. Report all concerns to the team lead and/or supervisor

Requirements

  • 1 + Years of freight processing and/or logistics experience, required
  • High School diploma or GED is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • Ability of operate a Rider Counter Balance Forklift (RC) or Rider Reach Forklift (RR) or willingness to learn
  • Ability to support DC Operations by performing operational tasks including truck loading or willingness to learn
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and pivot as necessary
  • Willingness to work in a non-temperature-controlled area, both hot and cold as trailers are at outside temperature when pulled in for loading or unloading
  • Ability to pass OSHA approved Jungheinrich material handling equipment certification
  • Familiarity with voice picking and/or radio frequency equipment is beneficial 
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs consistently, up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities including, but not limited to reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.

Category Manager

This position is responsible for managing raw materials and Resale materials, representing $20M - $30M in spend, for multiple businesses within the North America region, including but not limited to: CertainTeed, Abrasives, ADFORS, Chryso and SageGlass. This position operates under the guidance of a Director of Purchasing, is strategic in nature and demands accountability for the sourcing strategies and results impacting the applicable businesses. The Category Manager establishes clear and formal long-term strategies for the sourcing of the materials in the portfolio, including but not limited to: commodity chemicals purchased through distributors and building materials for the One Precision Assemblies business. This position ensures these strategies are aligned with and enable the businesses’ goals and objectives. This position compliance with the SGNA Purchasing Policy and the Purchasing chapter of the Internal Control Reference Framework (“ICRF”).

Strategic raw materials sourcing management:

  • Establish clear and formal long-term strategies for the sourcing of raw materials in line with Business Units goals and objective.
  • Put in place risk mitigation strategies by working with R&D to qualify alternate suppliers.
  • Develop deep understanding of markets for Categories managed, including key players, appropriate indices, trends…
  • Lead RFP’s and supplier negotiations. Continuously challenge suppliers and obtain competitive prices on all raw materials.
  • Implement formal supply agreements with all key suppliers with the help of the legal group.
  • Identify, lead and implement VAVE (Value Added / Value Engineering) and Vendor Innovation Partnership projects with suppliers to right size specifications of raw materials or components purchased in order to increase end customer value and/or reduce costs.
  • Work with R&D for cost savings opportunities, Business Continuity Planning (risk mitigation) and New Product Development initiatives.
  • Ensure raw materials sourcing is compliant with Region Purchasing Policy and Purchasing ICRF (Internal Controls Reference Framework)
  • All RFPs required to use ProSource and are accompanied by the Supplier Charter and all contracts uploaded in ProcureNet
  • Support the growth of the One Precision Assemblies business by:
    • Securing the best pricing possible for externally procured materials
    • Supporting stakeholders in the business in proposing innovative, competitive solutions to our customers
    • Supporting the identification, selection, qualification and implementation of new subcontracting suppliers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions and businesses to implement efficient intercompany purchasing practices

Other Programs and Reporting:

  • Full compliance to the Saint-Gobain Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives (Supplier Charter, Ecovadis, Timber Certificates…)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to four years of direct supervisory experience
  • Six to eight years of working in an industrial production-manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, industrial management or similar discipline, or six (6) years of equivalent training and experience that provides a comprehensive working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices and procedures of a lean manufacturing operation may be substituted for a degree
  • Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization, utilizing differing styles of management; from directive, to coaching and support, through delegation, as the situation arises
  • Change management and conflict management skills
  • Strong communication skills, results driven, flexible and open minded
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion would be considered an asset

Working Conditions:

Works in a manufacturing plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, and exposure to industrial noise, dust, chemicals and temperature changes.  Normal plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week and work hours may vary depending on business needs. May require long hours, and weekend and holiday work.  May require travel by air and rental cars

Impact:

#2 Coater Operator- Operates as part of a team in the processing of PVC and urethane laminates, as well as production of urethane materials. Operations will include applying adhesives to paper or films, laminating, backstripping, winding, transferring adhesive, and inspecting and unloading of processed material.

Provides support to programs in Granville, NY within the defined continuous improvement framework, in a manner consistent with Saint-Gobain EHS Policies and Principles of Conduct and Action.

Employees are required to work overtime as scheduled. This includes before/after shift or weekend shift.

2nd Shift: Monday- Friday- 3:30 pm - Midnight

Pay: $20.19/hr to start plus $1.00 shift differential ($.75 increase in hourly rate after 6 months)

Each year, based on individual/business performance, employees have the potential to receive annual bonus in March and merit increase in April.

Regional Human Resources Manager - Great Plains

Why do we need you?

The Regional HR Operations Manager is a key leadership role within the HR Operations organization providing support and guidance across the region, including direct leadership responsibilities for assigned sites within the region.
