This position will have the responsibility of facility and production machine maintenance which includes performing PMs, repairing machines and components, and processing work requests using the computerized maintenance management system. This position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

What do you bring?

  • Inspect equipment and components for wear, malfunctions, misalignments, and other problems.
  • Replace equipment components that prevent the equipment from operating efficiently.
  • Fabricate and rebuild the components to be used on equipment.
  • Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communications, listening, and have strong organizational skills.
  • Successfully pass a written test that is intended to determine mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and layout instructions to rebuild components and facilitate new equipment installation.
  • Understand theory of operations for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to effectively troubleshoot and make repairs to plant process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of power transmission components and controls.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems throughout the plant.
  • Perform necessary inspections and repairs during weekly maintenance periods.
  • Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar field and/or requisite maintenance experience that lends itself to a working knowledge of the operation of mechanical components and equipment.
  • 5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Oxy-acetylene cutting and mig/stick welding experience in a shop or maintenance repair shop.
  • Must have experience using a computerized maintenance management system to track work orders and account for time utilization.
  • G6 welding certification desirable.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Plant environment is not climate controlled. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity for this position include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Ability to lift a 70 to 90 pound bundle of shingles without assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk and hear. Must Pass a HUE Test.

The Operator must also record in-process inspections and verifications using Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Operator is responsible for machine setup and tear-down between jobs. Must be mechanically inclined and proficient with computers.

The Mill/Braid Operator is responsible for safely operating both the mill and braiding machines. The Mill/Braid Operator will use the mill machine to compound silicone raw silicone to provide to the Extrusion Operators. The Operator must mill batches, up to 40 lbs., using the two-roll mill, to mix material per the routing notes, SOPs, MOPs, or batch records. Operator must also visually inspect product to ensure parts are clean and free of any dirt, hair, or particulate before supplying to the Extrusion department.

 

The Mill/Braid Operator will also be responsible for braiding reinforced silicone tubing using the braiding machine. This Operator must also record in-process inspections and verifications using Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Proficient at the operation, OJT & trouble-shooting processes/equipment in the mill/braid department. Operator is expected to safely produce the highest quality products in the silicone industry, following the standards of operation as set forth by SGPPL, Beaverton.

Essentials of Sales Development Program - Associate Territory Manager

Program Summary:

Our 18-month program provides participants a full-time sales development role, where participants will increase their sales skills and their exposure to CertainTeed. Participants are provided with time in the field, hands on learning, and full access to Exterior Product Sales (EPS) leaders for networking opportunities designed to accelerate career development. These trainings and travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. EOS Associate Territory Manager will support CertainTeed businesses in building strong relationships and portfolios of loyal customers through the development of new and existing customers. They will proactively promote CertainTeed products, systems, and programs. They will gain a knowledge base of all CertainTeed products, systems, programs, and promotions used to sell and promote the brand to potential customers throughout the U.S. Representatives will also be expected to collaborate with the managers and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are constantly being met.

Development Program Completion

Upon the successful completion of the program, the EOS Associate Territory Manager will work with HR, the Sales Training Manager, and Sales Leadership to explore available opportunities within one of our 12 sales regions in the U.S. for a Territory Manager role, or other roles within Saint-Gobain. Those not able to find another role at the end of a successful completion of the program may qualify for a completion bonus if eligibility requirements are met.

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $ $62,810 to $ $94,160. Consistent with CertainTeed Gypsum Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives, the Shift Manager provides the leadership to effectively lead shift production, maintenance and shipping operations to world class levels of safety, environmental impact, quality, service and efficiency, within the financial internal controls framework.

The Seattle Manufacturing Facility has three primary production areas (Line 1, Line 2, Stucco Preparation Area), with a total capacity of 600 MMSF, including a 24 hour per day shipping operation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leading and Development of Teams: Fosters a high-performance team environment through engagement, buy-in and contribution in a union employee environment.
  • Reporting, Decision Making and Controls: Ensures all shift processes meet applicable financial Internal Control guidelines for inventory controls, including completing entry for production and shipping data input, quality holds
  • Plant operating standards (Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality): Responsible for product quality control on all production lines on shift, including: Compliance of product quality checks with control plans; auditing of quality control plan compliance, implementation of new quality procedures; management of defective product within existing procedures; investigation into quality check non-compliance, customer complaints and subsequent actions, participation in product & process trials
  • Continuous improvement/WCM activity: Continuously evaluates shift performance to identify gaps and focuses on continuous improvement in areas of opportunity/non-compliance and develops the shift skills and competences

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemical engineering or closely related such as industrial engineering, industrial management OR eight (8) years of equivalent training and experience that provides a comprehensive working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices and procedures of a lean/world class manufacturing operation may be substituted for a degree.
  • Six to eight (6-8) years of applied professional experience working in production in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean / World Class principles and practices.
  • Three to four (3-4) years of direct or indirect supervisory experience.
  • PMP Certification, preferred.

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Machine Operator

Why do we need you?

Bailey Metal Products, a proud subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a Machine Operator for its Edmonton (Alberta) location. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

 

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, adjusting, and setting up assigned mill lines while meeting production, quality, and safety requirements. This involves loading and setting up steel coils, making necessary adjustments, operating machinery, bundling pieces, transferring finished products and monitoring the roll-forming operation.

The person should be able to identify quality problems by performing scheduled sampling and operator checks. They are expected to manually handle finished products and prepare cartons for final packaging, ensuring compliance with safety acts and regulations.

  • Hours: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
  • Days: Monday to Thursday

Responsibilities

  • Load steel coil onto un-coilers using a crane once trained and certified.
  • Tighten the un-coiler and cut straps on the coil.
  • Guide the steel into processing areas (rolls) using jogging controls.
  • Activate the machine using the control panel by selecting the order type and clear any jam-ups.
  • Set up or adjust rolls and conduct a quality inspection to check product conformance.
  • Complete all required quality documents, and report issues as required.
  • Gather products, strap them into bundles, place bundles on the wagon, and apply identification.
  • Prepare all required production and safety related reports and forward them to the supervisor.
  • Complete any other work assigned by the Supervisor/Lead Hand/Plant Manager.
  • Abide by all Health & Safety rules, safe practices, and requirements laid out by Bailey.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to properly use measuring equipment such as tape measures (imperial and metric), calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Knowledge of hand tools such as tin snips, Allen keys, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

QUALIFICATIONS

Role Summary:

This role will lead the Customer Service function within a manufacturing environment. The incumbent will lead digital tool development and implementation in support of customer service improvements and effectiveness. The position will ensure the efficient handling of customer inquiries, order processing, and issue resolution. The individual is a highly motivated liaison between our customers, sales teams, manufacturing, and engineering departments. Leading a team of two Customer Service Representatives, this role supports the sales process by providing order status updates, product knowledge, account support, and quote preparation.

The individual ensures customer requirements are fully understood and met, while driving business process improvements, workflow standardization, and enhanced customer engagement. This role is also instrumental in coordinating new customer and new part onboarding.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Support the team as needed for complex customer issues
  • Develop and manage digital pricing tools for various products produced on site, including annual price revisions.
  • Closely work with product managers to improve our pricing strategy that includes market variations and product competitiveness
  • Deliver exceptional service by actively listening and identifying the best solutions for customers

Team Leadership
