WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

 The Process Development Engineer will provide technical leadership for the development and industrialization of next_generation thermoplastic extrusion, molding, and assembly processes. The role is responsible for advancing process technologies from concept through pilot_scale validation and manufacturing deployment. Working closely with global R&D, Quality, Commercial, and Operations teams, this position applies engineering rigor, material and process expertise, and statistical methods to improve process capability, reliability, and scalability while meeting safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, optimization, and scale_up of thermoplastic extrusion, molding, and assembly processes, applying polymer processing principles, equipment capability analysis, and process characterization techniques.
  • Execute new technology introductions and process improvement projects in collaboration with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams, ensuring robust design for manufacturability and operational readiness.
  • Define process windows, critical process parameters (CPPs), and critical quality attributes (CQAs) using data_driven methods such as DOE, capability analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction through cycle_time optimization, yield improvement, labor efficiency, defect reduction, and lead_time compression.
  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to assess the technical and compliance impact of process changes, including validation strategy, regulatory documentation, and customer impact analysis.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications, equipment requirements, and control strategies to enable effective transfer of new processes to manufacturing teams for validation and sustained production.
  • Lead technical engagement with equipment and automation suppliers, including conducting trade studies, evaluating emerging technologies, managing NDAs, issuing RFQs, and supporting equipment FAT/SAT activities.
  • Manage capital projects from laboratory and pilot_scale trials through full production launch and post_launch optimization, ensuring technical performance, risk mitigation, and achievement of defined KPIs.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support our transportation and distribution activities across all product lines in Canada.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator's main responsibility is to operate, adjust and set up assigned roll-former lines, slitting line, press and shear lines while meeting production, quality and safety requirements. This position significantly contributes to the overall production function of Bailey West. The individual will operate, adjust and set up assigned machines. This includes but is not limited to the following, meeting schedules, working within a team environment, also ensuring all aspects of work are done with an eye to Safety, Quality & Production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Plant and Legislated safety guidelines.
  • Perform Daily Forklift / Machine Inspections as required.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgement.
  • Report in a timely manner any safety nonconformances.
  • Report quality non-conformances immediately.
  • Safely load steel coil onto uncoilers using overhead crane.
  • Tighten uncoiler and cut straps on the coil.
  • Guide the steel into processing areas (rolls) using jogging controls.
  • Activate machine using control panel by selecting the order type.
  • Clear any jam-ups in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Produce products as required per order.
  • Set up or adjust rolls and conduct quality inspection to check product conformance to Bailey West standards.
  • Gather products, strap into bundles, place bundles onto wagon and apply product identification.
  • Strap loads as required.
  • Fill-up label information as per info stated in work orders.
  • Prepare all required production and safety related reports and forward to the Lead Hand.
  • Ensure that co-workers / helpers work safely and report all unsafe practices.
  • Complete any other work as assigned by Leadhand / Production Supervisor / Plant Manager.
  • Work as a Team Member in all situations.
  • Back up other plant departments as required.

Maintenance Technician II

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

POSITION SUMMARY 

Repair and maintain machinery and automated equipment throughout the manufacturing facility using mechatronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills and techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  1. Able to work overtime as required and be flexible with assigned or rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and hours (8, 10, 12 hrs.) as needed. Comply with all policies and procedures as they pertain to the Company and job.
  2. Accurately troubleshoot, repair, maintain, test and operate hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and associated control systems.
  4. Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures.
  5. Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual.
  6. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
  7. Maintain and troubleshoot all VFDs, Motors/Wiring configurations, PLCs, Computers, HMI, Electrical Schematics, Control Circuits, and Preventive / Predictive maintenance
  8. Follow blueprints, Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications
  9. Accurately completing CMMS work order documentation for complete work history and parts inventory tracking.
  10. Direct and train Mechanic Trainees or Maintenance I mechanics.
  11. Maintain effective communication with Maintenance Supervisor on job activities and results of repairs.
  12. Maintain proper mechanic tools to do repairs effectively and efficiently.
  13. Know how to use arc welding equipment on steel or aluminum materials. Select proper welding rod and method of welding joints and braces.
  14. Understand the basics of a volt/ohm meter and its use in the repair and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
  15. Know how to use the acetylene torch for cutting or welding of steel, copper tubing or sheet metal.
  16. Use a drill press for layout work and drilling holes for the tapping of screws and bolts.
  17. Use rigging equipment for proper removal of machine parts.
  18. Understand all aspects of carpentry work, such as frame, foundation, roofing extra.

  20. Responsible for maintaining the workstation, per 5S guidelines, which includes maintaining a clean and organized work area. After repairs are finished he or she will be responsible of delivering the equipment on expected 5S standards
  21. Place waste in appropriate designated labeled containers and makes sure lids are properly closed after disposal of waste. Examples of waste are: Contaminated rags, empty aerosol cans, defective lime, etc.
  22. Report abnormal conditions, such as overflowing barrels and missing identification labels to supervisor in charge.
  23. Perform SMAT audits when required thought out the year and as per management request.
  24. Perform “One Minute to Think” before starting any assigned job task.
  25. Able to read PPE assessment forms and comply with PPE requirements.
  26. Bring to management’s attention any Environmental, Health and Safety alerts throughout the year by submitting a safety alert form.
  27. Perform Facilities maintenance as needed and instructed by Maintenance Supervisor.
  28. All other duties as assigned by Management.

Extruder Operator I - Night Shift

What’s the job?

Under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader, the Extruder Operator I is responsible for supporting safe operation of PVC extrusion lines and producing quality products within established specifications. This role focuses on foundational skills, adherence to procedures, and learning the extrusion process.  Responsible for operating and monitoring the automated vinyl and accessory extruders, tooling, and downstream equipment.

Night Shift Work Schedule:  The position assignment is for 12-hour shifts in Production, 6:00AM - 6:00PM on a rotating schedule 2-2-3.  This includes being scheduled for some weekend shifts.

  • Assist with line start-up, shutdown, and color changes under supervision
  • Verify correct materials are used in production
  • Perform basic quality checks (color, gloss, dimensions, product specs, visual inspection, etc.)
  • Monitor line operations and report abnormalities or issues
  • Enter production data into MES (Factory+) system
  • Perform basic lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures on equipment
  • Submit work orders and maintenance requests as needed
  • Make basic equipment and tooling adjustments to maintain quality standards and support tooling cleaning, assembly, and line adjustments
  • Complete shift reporting for metrics such as scrap rates and performance
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on production equipment
  • Communicate effectively with team members, including packers, operators, and leadership
  • Pack panels and accessories according to quality standards
  • Provide relief for packers during breaks
  • Support team members with line issues and general production needs
  • Ensure safety, quality, housekeeping, 5S, and KOI performance for assigned production line
  • Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
