Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Shift Technician is required to support the maintenance organization and process, the Maintenance Shift Technician is responsible for ensuring plant equipment performs reliably. The technician will be working closely with other Maintenance Teams and Production personnel to ensure the plant equipment performs reliably and as needed to meet production targets. The Maintenance Manager will define other duties and responsibilities.

Compensation: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
Shift: 3rd (12:00am-8:00am with $1.20 shift differential)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring all plant equipment is maintained and reliable. Must ensure that the equipment is working properly, and it meets the needs of the dept.
  • Responsible for the reactive maintenance requirements of all depts.
  • Responsible for routine identification of equipment reliability issues and supporting action plans to correct.
  • Develop critical spares lists and recommended stocking levels for equipment.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Leadership to integrate preventive and predictive maintenance programs into the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Required to participate in skills training improvement plans.
  • Provide support to other departmental process improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participate in departmental safety and housekeeping programs.
  • Support changing work schedules to coincide with equipment availability, craft training and resource demands.
  • Responsible for daily forklift safety inspections and completion of checklist sheets.
  • Must demonstrate good housekeeping skills to assure a safe and hazard free work environment.
  • Must have basic computer literacy to enter production data daily.
  • Other accountabilities as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • High level of Industrial Mechanical and Electrical knowledge. (10 years experience in Mechanical and Electrical)

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Must have ability to operate electronic calculator to accomplish these tasks.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mine Maintenance Mechanic

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Schedule: 4 day, 12 hour rotating work week. 5:00am-5:00pm. Candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Compensation: $39.28 per hour

Position Summary:
Consistent with World Class Manufacturing, a Mine Maintenance Mechanic provides efficient and disciplined heavy equipment maintenance work for the Mine Maintenance Department. The position reports directly to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor and will be involved with in the installation, maintenance, repair, rebuild and/or replacement of heavy duty equipment (HDE), crushing equipment, buildings, machinery, operation and efficiency of the fuel truck, etc. Will be an asset within World Class Manufacturing (WCM) culture, along with practicing WCM techniques and principles.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain off-road heavy equipment fleet
  • Must have knowledge of troubleshooting systems on large off-road trucks, dozers, track hoes, etc.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of schematics and equipment service manuals
  • Ability to look up parts for a required repair
  • Able to coordinate with other employees and plan needed repairs
  • Able to crawl under equipment for repairs and enter confined spaces
  • Proficient in the use of welding machines & torches
  • Operation and care of fuel truck and operational mine maintenance support equipment
  • Complete 60 Sec to Think, Work Permits, SMAT & EMAT audits, Safety Trainings, and EPR
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and perform LOTO as required
  • Be willing to help cover for vacations, weekends, Holidays, shutdowns, on call
  • Be willing to work holidays as scheduled
  • May require working in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Participate in team WCM events/activities
  • Maintain safety awareness while operating around mobile equipment

General Laborer/Production Operator

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The primary function of the General Plant Laborer is to provide a wide range of miscellaneous support to General Plant Clean Up, Waste Management, Recycling etc.  Significant portion of the daily tasks may involve operating industrial powered vehicles (Forklifts and Sweepers) with common tasks listed (but not limited to) as follows: 

  • Conduct General Plant Labor activities such as: sweeping, cleaning, painting, housekeeping or assisting production operators.

  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Participate in the development, understanding and review of related Job Safety Analysis and/or Standard Operating Procedures
  • Be an active participant in 5S continuous improvement activities.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by Supervisor

Research Engineer I Bonded Abrasives

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for a highly motivated, talented and organized research engineer to join our growing Bonded Abrasives team. The main responsibilities include supporting product development, process development, testing, and other activities supporting senior engineers on specific topics and manufacturing in the plant. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills and experience in lab environment and the plant. Hands-on, critical thinking and attention to detail are critical for this position.

The candidate will design and run experiments, produce lab scale samples, operate pilot equipment, and analyze the experimental results. In addition to designing experiments for the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to conduct experiments to support projects led by others and in the plant.

The main duties will include:

  • Utilize basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with defined scope, including new product development, process development, technology transfer and production support in the plant.
  • Design and conduct hands-on experimental work, data analysis, literature search.
  • Manage and document projects and tasks effectively with supervision.
  • Take leading role in aspects of lab management: safety, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc.
  • Develop and demonstrate open and collaborative approaches in all areas of responsibility.
  • Seek out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making

Essential Functions

  • Communicate technically with internal and external collaborators and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies.
  • Lead projects associated with new product launches through internal testing and test systems development (equipment, tooling, methodology, SOP’s, etc) plus management of data files.
  • Support the development and evaluation of new process measurement systems and techniques that enhance our capability. Design and execute appropriate experiments or supervise technicians in the running of experiments.
  • Work with supervisor and other members of the business unit to identify and document growth opportunities for the business. For new projects generated, participate as project team member or small project leader.
  • Support product manufacture and improvement in the plant, identify root cause, set up internal tests and provide solutions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Glass, Ceramic, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Demonstrate adequate knowledge in HSE.
  • R&D experience in formulation, characterization, and processing of composite materials in industrial environments preferred.
  • Industrial internship experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $79,025 to $121,535. Machine Operator II - 2nd shift

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position is responsible for operating various types of machinery and carrying out the daily tasks assigned by the supervisor. The operator has the ability to successfully setup and operate the machinery by following standard safety, quality, and processing procedures. PRODUCTION

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimizing the day-to-day operations of laid scrim production.

This role directly supervises operators in building A and ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes.

The supervisor works closely with the Production Manager to meet production goals, maintain product standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


-Supervise and coordinate daily operations of laid scrim production lines in building A. -Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.

-Monitor workflow, staffing, and equipment utilization to maximize productivity. Identify and resolve operational issues in real time to minimize downtime.


Provide regular updates to the Production Manager on performance, issues, and progress.

Maintain accurate production records, KPIs, and reporting metrics.

Communicate shift goals, priorities, and expectations clearly to the team. Coordinate effectively with other departments - maintenance, quality, planning and supply chain, and other production groups.

Act as backup to supervisor in building B laid scrim production as needed.
Ensure all products meet laid scrim specifications and customer requirements. Monitor quality metrics and partner with QA to resolve defects and drive improvements.

Implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce waste and rework.
Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and timely repairs. Monitor machine performance and recommend upgrades or process enhancements. Ensure proper setup, changeover, and operation of laid scrim production equipment.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all plant safety policies and PPE requirements.

Ensure housekeeping standards (5S) are maintained throughout production areas.

Ensure all employees are properly trained in safety practices and equipment operation.
Lead and support WCM, 5S, and process improvement initiatives.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Participate in root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.

Maintenance Planner

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility. - Provide procedures for completing work and closing work orders by: maintaining accurate backlog, reporting completion, and providing a full day of work productivity for each tradesperson.
- Eliminate work delays, identify and correct work process 
-Identify inefficacies of the work process including materials, plant conditions, kittings, and resources
- Provide special tool and equipment requirements
- Provide an overall plan for maintenance supervisor on which to base his/her pre-thinking and pre-planning for day-to-day work and future work
- Establish job goals for the work force
- Planning and scheduling of shutdowns
- Storeroom - oversee activities ensuring adequate requisitions of parts
- Establish a maintenance presence & awareness on the production lines
- Occasionally inspect the quality of performed maintenance work.

 -Reduce total cost of maintenance while improving conditions of equipment and operating facilities
