WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Active Storage shift operator will be responsible for feeding raw materials (DSG, Natural Rock, Reclaim, etc) into feeders from stock piles of material. This individual will report directly to the Active Storage and Mill Supervisor.

The Active Storage Operator will be responsible for: operating the front-end loader, forklift, dump truck, bulldozer, water truck, and other mobile equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Self-motivating, and be able to work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot and independently fix a wide range of process and equipment issues while maintaining housekeeping during the shift.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • 5 plus years of Heavy Equipment experience (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License (Preferred)
  • Ability to work Rotating 12- hour Rotating Swing Shift, days, nights and weekends
  • Ability to work in a team based setting.
  • Manufacturing experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with a vast knowledge of formulas and mathematics
  • Proficient PC skills (desired)
  • Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and work shifts as scheduled
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds

Quality Lab Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Lab Technician is responsible for providing quality and technical support to Manufacturing by ensuring raw material, process and product quality tests are performed in a timely manner to meet standards and surpass customers’ expectations.  This support also includes monitoring process parameters, assisting with plant trials on new materials, equipment or products and assisting with the investigation of quality defects (internal and external).  The Lab Technician provides training to personnel on quality testing and product specifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Learn and perform all quality tests per SOP, and the function and use of laboratory equipment.
  • Performs laboratory testing on a routine basis per the Control Plan, including data entry into the Quality Systems to ensure raw material, in-process and finished product quality meets Regulatory, internal and customer requirements and specifications.
  • Assists with investigation and resolution of quality defect production (internal culls) and escapes (customer complaints) with Senior Quality Team members. 
  • Assists Senior Quality Team members with control, evaluation and disposition of product and raw materials, under testing or on hold including retesting and data entry as needed.
  • Know how to use testing equipment and ensure correct technique is used by production testers.
  • Assists with trials conducted to evaluate and implement new materials, processes, equipment or products.
  • Assists in monthly calibration of feeders, pumps etc.
  • Additional testing as required under direction of Quality Team.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follows all safety policies, procedures and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.
  • Complete all required CT/Saint-Gobain trainings within required time.
  • Adheres to CertainTeed / Saint-Gobain Attitudes and sets example for others.
  • Abides by the policies, procedures and work rules established by the plant. 
  • Establishes and maintains the highest degree of housekeeping and 5S (Sorting, Straightening, Shining, Standardizing, Sustaining) to realize a professional and efficient work environment.
  • As a representative of the company, conducts oneself in a professional manner during regulatory agency inspections as well as during customer and vendor interactions.
  • Become familiar with plant manufacturing process.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 2-3 years manufacturing experience
  • Able to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with mathematical calculations.
  • Detail- Ability to work fast and accurately oriented.
  • Good reasoning/mechanical aptitude; ability to use various gauges.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Post-secondary technical degree/diploma coupled ideally with Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Knowledge of SPC techniques and process instrumentation
  • Knowledge (or previous experience) of World Class Manufacturing systems (WCM)
  • Manufacturing experience in a team based environment.
  • Familiarity with Safety Programs in a manufacturing facility
  • Good understanding of general chemistry and gypsum wallboard manufacturing process, quality and board specifications.
  • Ability to communicate quality objectives and results to the Operators/Technicians on the floor to effect actions that contribute to improvement of quality
  • Ability to use or learn WCM (e.g. Q-EWO, QK, OPL, etc.) and seven basic QC tools (e.g. Pareto chart, check sheet, etc.) to analyze and implement quality and process improvement initiatives

Packager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

As a member of the team, the main role of the Packer is to support all operations related to the production operations at the site, including adhering to all Good Manufacturing Policies and the Food Safety Program. This position will support in other areas in the plant directly reporting into the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company and OSHA safety policies, procedures, and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.
  • Operates all necessary equipment related to mill, production staging, and observe/operate heavy equipment
  • Ability to operate a forklift and water truck. Performs inspections on mobile equipment.
  • Removes finished product from the production line and shrink wraps each pallet with the appropriate bag then adds labels, lot codes, and etc. then stacks in the warehouse or yard area.
  • Supplies the production line with pallets, bags and wrapping materials
  • Inspects Packaging Materials prior to changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs. Returns Packaging Materials after completion of production runs, if needed.
  • Provide production support by wrapping pallets and ability to use a forklift to move production to the correct storage locations.
  • Accountable for the administration of operational processes for all production, forklift inspections, incident reports, reporting equipment defects, complying with food safety program and any other processes in the designated production operation.
  • Communicates with previous or incoming shift regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production lines to prepare for the shift.
  • Operates equipment, palletizer, packers, and/or drives a forklift, heavy equipment onsite to assist production operations
  • Maintain a clean work area, fill hoppers for production with appropriate raw materials.
  • Ability to hand-stack 50/40 lbs bags when needed for reworks or normal production as needed

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Unloads and loads finished products and raw materials from trucks throughout shift, when needed.
  • Assists for cycle counts of raw and finished goods on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible to confirm truck weight is within legal weight limits and make adjustments if needed.
  • Assists shipping and receiving by checking in and out trucks in the system (SAP) as necessary.
  • Internal Controls Responsibility: Internal controls are a vital part of duties and responsibilities of this job. As part of this position, the person in this role is required to read the procedures and sign off that they read and understand the duties/responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, maintenance, and calibration on electro-mechanical production equipment and systems based on work orders and maintenance schedules, maintaining detailed maintenance, repair, and calibration records.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems and components. Test and evaluate electro-mechanical assemblies and equipment for appropriate performance.
  • Conduct and lead breakdown analysis to identify root causes in order to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Follow local, state, and federal codes during equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and equipment manuals to assemble, repair, and determine appropriate spares.
  • Install electronic components using soldering tools and hand equipment.
  • Respond with urgency to emergency repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure operational efficiency, quality, and safety, including active participation in shift overlap meetings.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance, including snow removal and de-icer application.

Job Goals:

Automation Engineer

The Electrical / Automation Engineer will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods and controls in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Insulation, Mission, Values and Objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reports directly to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Responsible for safety throughout the plant, making sure all CertainTeed safety rules are followed.
  • Supervising 4 industrial electricians and 2 Apprentices.
  • Assist and train Electricians with any difficult troubleshooting issues. Provide support and assistance for emergencies during afterhours or weekend.
  • Solid communication skills at all levels and the ability to provide leadership.
  • Uses advanced tools / techniques to improve reliability.
  • Programming and troubleshooting with Rockwell Automation products, RS logics 5000, Studio 5000, SCADA.
  • Organize work orders, ordering parts, prioritizing work orders in SAP software, post on call schedule.
  • Managing all electrical work in the buildings and the grounds, including the High Voltage towers.
  • Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing automation and Maintenance related projects and initiatives.
