Our Internal Audit department seeks to employ high-potential people with the intent of gaining exposure to all of the Saint-Gobain businesses and disciplines (e.g. accounting/finance, purchasing, production, inventory management, human resources, supply chain, etc.) operating in North America. With this unique broad based experience, the objective will be to move from Internal Audit into a business, finance or accounting position after a few short years.

Audit Planning:

  • Collection of the preliminary and necessary information for a strong preparation of the audit assignment
  • Ability to act as lead contact with entity management

Audit Field Work:

  • 25% Travel (Audit cycles are 4 weeks in duration, with 1 week requiring travel to the assigned plant location. Domestic travel within the US and to Canada)
  • Diagnose process compliance using the aid of advanced data analytics tools
  • Analyze the strengths, weaknesses and level of risk management of the audited organization;
  • Assess the compliance of processes to established rules and regulations
  • Accumulate, organize, and conclude on all audit evidence obtained. Provide recommendations to business unit management of the audited entity to enable them to improve the level of management and internal controls of their operations and initiate changes (if necessary)

Audit Report:

  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations in a closing meeting presentation with key executives
  • Deliver objective evaluation of the findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Particular attention will be given to the drafting of the audit report, both in the content (proven facts, synthesis) and in the form (presentation)
  • Identify root cause and actions needed to satisfy each audit recommendation and finding
  • Assist the audit manager and VP of Internal Audit with various projects and tasks as needed

What do you bring?

  • Undergraduate degree (Accounting is strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 4 + years Internal or External audit experience (Manufacturing or Supply Chain exposure a plus).
  • Will also consider comparable experience in an Operational Controller/ Accounting position with strong internal controls.
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA a plus
  • Ability to travel 25% (1 week a month), when travel is permitted
  • Willingness to expand career into other internal functional opportunities outside of Internal Audit within 3-4 years.

The Role 

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Operations Supervisor will supervise and direct shift activities to ensure safe and compliant operations, while achieving quality, service, and productivity targets.  This position is critical in communicating with the front-line employees, ensuring they are informed of all plant information, changes, and updates in a timely manner.  In addition, the incumbent will assist in identifying and implementing process improvement programs to that give the Polymer Shakes Plant a cost advantage over the competition.

  • Develops and cultivates a team-oriented “working safely” culture throughout the plant with a focus on zero injuries, work-related health conditions, and/or spills. Is responsible to ensure employees and operations are in compliance with all EHS standards, including active participation in behavior-based safety reporting and programs; preventive audits/programs; and 6S efforts and initiatives.
  • Responsible for all aspects related to production efficiencies, including first pass yield, up-time, throughput, pack rates, cycle time, scrap rates, and regrind re-use.
  • Manages and cultivates a culture that has an unrelenting commitment to quality, ensuring compliance with all quality standards. Provides leadership for technical and quality teams for consensus to resolve quality issues, understanding and teaching the impact that decisions have on parts quality.
  • Leads, coaches, and manages a team of technical support and machine attendants, developing a team-oriented focus and mindset. Strives to develop a bottom-up approach to resolve issues and gain buy-in.  Creates and implements succession plans to ensure business stability and individual development.

Requirements

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree preferred with degree in Manufacturing, Business, or similar field.
  • 5-8 years progressive work experience in a manufacturing environment or related internships in a manufacturing environment.

Packaging Category Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Why do we need you?

The Packaging Category Manager manages defined categories of packaging spend all businesses of Saint-Gobain North America (SGNA) ~130 plants. The Category Manager will be responsible for all aspects of category management for these strategic and complex purchases with an annual spend of ~ $80M, heavily focused on corrugated and paper-based products. Packaging includes several sub-categories with diverse specifications across multiple Business Units and represents a significant opportunity for cost reductions and process improvements under a centrally managed program. This role will lead all sourcing, contract and price negotiations, supplier management, reporting (savings, compliance, and other KPIs), and supplier value added/value engineered activities. Also, the individual will work closely with the Saint-Gobain Achats team based in Paris to coordinate purchasing activities and strategies at the global and North America levels.

The candidate must be able to propose solutions to Business Units problems while leveraging the overall spend of these categories to deliver savings and drive compliance. Must understand the technical requirements of the diverse Business Units to provide a world-class level of support to business units that are internal customers, while delivering maximum savings. This position should challenge the status quo and look creatively for savings opportunities throughout the categories managed. Must be able to lead teams and drive toward consensus and compliance. The Category Manager position requires an experienced professional with technical expertise and very good interpersonal skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders. Must be a change agent within the Purchasing organization.

Sourcing, negotiations, project management:

  • Identify spend, develop sourcing strategy, and lead all sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to minimize the total purchasing costs associated with this category for all Saint-Gobain North America businesses. Strategic category management including a detailed understanding of the technical aspects of the commodity, global supply conditions, Business Unit requirements for inventory, inventory control, current market pricing and associated trends, potential deployment of LCC strategy and global commodity dynamics.
  • Drive compliance for the Packaging category
  • Assist SGNA Operations, R&D and Product Management teams in projects involving Packaging changes, improvements or NPD, or VAVE.
  • Link closely with Global Category Management in Paris global HQ for setting strategies, goals and sharing best practices.

Strategic Category Management:

  • Deep understanding of the various Packaging markets, players and category and knowledge sharing with the sites.
  • Create and maintain category strategies taking into account industry trends and market conditions by category.
  • Develop and manage supply base in conjunction with the sites.
  • Manage forecasts and budgets for all businesses to feed Long Range Plan, annual budgets and RF’s throughout the year.
  • Publish regular newsletters showing status of compliance, sourcing projects, best practices etc.
  • Manage pricing effectively by providing updates, verifying price evolution vs contracts etc. for all SGNA Business Units.

  • The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business-related field (business, finance, supply chain).

Maintenance Mechanic

This position will have the responsibility of facility and production machine maintenance which includes performing PMs, repairing machines and components, and processing work requests using the computerized maintenance management system. This position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Inspect equipment and components for wear, malfunctions, misalignments, and other problems.
  • Replace equipment components that prevent the equipment from operating efficiently.
  • Fabricate and rebuild the components to be used on equipment.
  • Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communications, listening, and have strong organizational skills.
  • Successfully pass a written test that is intended to determine mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and layout instructions to rebuild components and facilitate new equipment installation.
  • Understand theory of operations for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to effectively troubleshoot and make repairs to plant process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of power transmission components and controls.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems throughout the plant.
  • Perform necessary inspections and repairs during weekly maintenance periods.
  • Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar field and/or requisite maintenance experience that lends itself to a working knowledge of the operation of mechanical components and equipment.
  • 5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Oxy-acetylene cutting and mig/stick welding experience in a shop or maintenance repair shop.
  • Must have experience using a computerized maintenance management system to track work orders and account for time utilization.
  • G6 welding certification desirable.

Environmental Conditions:

Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Plant environment is not climate controlled. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas

Physical/Mental Requirements:

Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity for this position include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Ability to lift a 70 to 90 pound bundle of shingles without assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk and hear. Must Pass a HUE Test.

First Class Millwright

  • Perform PMs and input work requests using the current computerized maintenance systems that are associated with the general plant and production lines.

Electrical Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
This position is for the new, state-of-the-art fiber glass mat plant! The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day preventive maintenance tasks and repair of electrical power and electronic equipment, troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration and assist with any mechanical repairs at the state-of-the-art Glass Mat facility in Oxford, NC. Will possess a thorough understanding and hands on experience with electrical & electronic maintenance principals. Trouble shoot machine break down, repair situations, and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies and JSA’s while performing tasks and at all times when on the premises.

This position will initially be a Mon-Fri 7am - 3:30pm schedule. When production begins, this will change to a night shift position, 7pm - 7am.


NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION:
The ability to diagnose and trouble shoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Must have a solid ability to solve machine operation problems using skill set of deductive reasoning, and electric test meters. Conducts inspections and replaces or repairs non-operational equipment and/or components of equipment that are hindering the equipment from operating efficiently. The incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of electrical principles and adequate skills to understand various plant processes.


Positive working attitude toward other employees; be a team player. Work with others constructively and abide by company policies and procedures. Working together as a team for continuous improvement is vital to ensure the future of CertainTeed and its employees. Teamwork will be required to be effective in daily maintenance assignments as well as continuous improvement projects.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
• Be on call in a rotation with the other day shift electricians. During that time the electrician carries their phone with them and can be called in after hours to handle electrical issues that arise at the plant. This requires staying in a location and condition so that the person can be at the plant within an hour.
• Testing electrical systems and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Rebuild of components to be used on the equipment in the plant along with reading and interpreting blueprints and layout instructions and have knowledge/understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic theory.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics and wire control panels.
• Will assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production including all of the above listed tasks and other means of support as needed.
• Will participate in training, craft skill improvements and department safety topics.
• Follow all safety precautions while performing tasks at all times. Along with preforming fire response responsibilities.
• All areas are to be clean and clear of any debris before/after maintenance days and holidays.
• Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s.
• Conduct required SMAT Audits in accordance with plant goals and objectives.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES):

High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 10 (10) years’ electrical experience and successfully pass a skills test, that is intended to determine mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge, A/C and 3 phase circuits, instrumentation knowledge and skills. Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Maintenance Electricians. Communication skills must be at a high level in order to clearly communicate issues/problems of the process. Interfacing with computerized process monitoring systems and other computer software and systems requires knowledge and skills in areas of computer operations. Must have a valid forklift and buggy license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forklift.


This position will require active participation, training, knowledge and understanding along with progression as a 3rd class and, 2nd class electrician.

Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

Injection Molding Operator - 3rd Shift

The Injection Molding Operator will be responsible for the daily operations of the molding department on 3rd Shift (10:30p-6:00a). Which will include Mold Set-Ups, Thermoplastic Processing, Basic Machine Maintenance, heat treating and curing, and all aspects of Quality for each production run.

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines efficiently for Production Jobs when scheduled.
  • Operate Injection Molding Machine, Auxiliary Equipment, Robots, Tumblers, and Packaging Machine as required.
  • Monitor machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time. Raising issues when needed.
  • Ensure manufactured parts conform to all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Complete all paperwork correctly and legibly.
  • Perform all tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Department Strategist.

BENEFITS IN JOINING US

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $18.00 to $27.00 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position, is $43,400 to $65,200. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:
