Is this job for you?

The Packing & Assembly Operator will perform manual assembly tasks to strict customer requirements. These tasks may include, but not limited to, inserting, working with adhesives, and part marking, of various Thermoplastic and Thermoset parts. This position will assist with packing and shipping of our parts.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 6+ months’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working in Assembly is preferred
  • Technical aptitude / trainability
  • Ability to perform visual inspections and identify non-conforming part and escalate to proper personnel
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc.
  • Demonstrate basic blue print reading
  • Provides additional backup support for packaging and receiving departments
  • Prepare daily outgoing products for domestic and international shipments.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, take measurements and perform basic Assembly functions such as part making, stamping, trimming, installation processes and adhesive processes
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Cell Lead
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS.
  • Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.
  • Handle raw material in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Report all incidents and unsafe conditions to supervisor or EHS.

The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the production equipment to ensure minimal production down-time and a safe work environment.

Candidate should be able to install, setup and troubleshoot temperature, speed, weight, pressure, flow and thickness sensing instrumentation. Able to monitor and troubleshoot controls using programmable logic controllers. Set up and tune loop controllers and PID loops. Maintenance and repair of electrical industrial control systems. Production equipment includes; material handling, bulk chemical systems, batch mixing, web coaters, extruding, converting and packaging equipment.

The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is also responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the facilities equipment such as: HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, motors, pollution control equipment, life safety, electrical power distribution, network, hoists, docks and automated doors.

The position requires scheduled shift work, weekend work and emergency call-ins during off shifts to support production. The Technician will report into the Maintenance Supervisor.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

We seek candidates with the following knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in industrial, electrical, electronic or instrumentation technologies preferred - will consider those with HS Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance
  • Experience in troubleshooting PLC based control systems (Rockwell Software preferred)
  • Experience with analog temperature, pressure flow, speed and weight measurement
  • Experience with discrete sensors
  • Experience with process loop calibration and equipment
  • Experience with industrial control networks such as MODBUS, BACnet, TCP/IP
  • Experience with motor controls and VFDs
  • Working knowledge of major systems including HVAC, electrical controls, plumbing, lighting, docks, overhead/sliding doors and life safety
  • Experience using electrical test equipment
  • Proven ability to work independently, be solution-oriented, adapt well to change, work accurately with detail and communicate effectively

Production Supervisor

Why do we need you?

The Role

This role mainly supports the Production area while collaborating with all other departments at the plant. This person will have a high impact on creating/reviving standards and training all employees to those standards. This will enhance the plant’s culture of safety, efficiency and quality by identifying best practices and coaching teams to correctly and consistently follow those practices. Typical work hours are 7am-4pm.

Responsibilities

A typical day will be identifying missing standards and specifications and making them accessible and visible to all. Once established, ongoing training should be held to make sure teams understand the what, when, where, why, and how. The new Teamwork system will be one of the main focuses for this information to reside and be built upon. While this role will mainly be expected to work the day shift, coverage and training will require time spent on alternative shifts as well. Another expectation of this role is to cover for other Production Supervisors during vacations, extended leaves, etc. While in this capacity, they will be responsible for all standards that a Production Supervisor typically covers when running their shift including data entry for KPIs.

Job Goals:
Repair and maintain select machinery and mechanical equipment, pre-determined by department supervisor, using hand tools, power tools and precision- measuring and testing instruments in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
  • Start and/or test run devices to test their performance.

The Role

The job objectives are to safely transport finished product and non-conforming product to multiple pre-determined locations in the plant. The primary way of transporting this material is using a sit-down forklift truck. The material is removed from equipment on a continuous production line after proper labelling and sorting has taken place. Visual and physical quality inspection of material will take place with data being input into Quality database systems. Equipment inspections are to be completed frequently to ensure that the production line continues flowing during the process. 

Pay Range: $25.29 - $34.21

What’s the job?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

50%

  • Spends 50% of time operating a sit-down forklift moving wallboard into the select locations, moving pallets of raw materials, and equipment parts.
  • Maintains, monitors, and understands all equipment in the designated area.
  • Maintain manual data log sheets of finished product and product dry waste.
  • Equipment is operated by a Human Machine Interface (HMI) System
  • Coordinates with the Production Team on all product changeovers.
  • Manages and organizes finished product end tapes using a Forklift.
  • Completes Level 1 Quality Inspection Tests on finished product which requires the operator to be on and off the forklift.

  • Maintains supply of bundling equipment raw materials
  • Ensures accurate count of finished goods
  • Ensures finished length, end cut, and packaging requirements are met

Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Our manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; wet and dusty conditions are present at times. Position requires a mixture of indoor and outdoor working environment with varying temperature conditions depending on the weather.

Program Manager - Product Hazard Communication & Stewardship

This is a newly created position for Program Manager Hazard Communication & Stewardship, a well-rounded candidate within the SGNA Product Stewardship Team. The ideal candidate would have experience in Product Stewardship, Compliance and Hazard Communication. This candidate would work with the SGNA PS&C Team, Toxicology, R&D, Sales and Compliance. This Candidate would support the North American Region Businesses for all aspects of Hazard Communications, Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Author Safety Datasheets and product labels for the variety of the products that SGNA manufacturers in the US and Canada.
  • Provide regulatory and Haz Com Subject Matter Expertise to fulfill requests/inquiries for North American Business Units.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects related to SDS authoring and inventory management.
  • Support hazard communication needs of hazard assessments and product stewardship reviews and product assessments.
  • Under the leadership of Senior Manager, provide product stewardship, guidance and expertise to businesses regarding compliance with EPA, REACH, CA Prop 65 and other global regulations, including PFAS, that govern Saint-Gobain Products.
  • Required to maintain up to date knowledge of country and state-specific legislation and ensure that the company’s manufactured products’ SDS and labeling reflect current regulatory requirements.
  • Support training and development to the teams for all applicable locations throughout North American sites as well as the SGNA PS&C Core Team representatives.
  • Interact with suppliers to obtain composition information or discuss product stewardship issues as needed
  • Obtain, evaluate and enter compositional, physical chemical, toxicological, environmental, and regulatory information in SDS authoring systems and generate documents according to established SOPs and workflow.

Required Qualifications

In alignment with the company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency. Shift: Night/weekend shift - working 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Primary Duties:

  • Work with industrial controls, limit switches, prox switches, and photocells
  • Work with analog controls such as level sensors, load cells, and pressure sensors
  • Will be expected to install conduit and basic circuits
