POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain and improve mechanical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency.

  • Shift duration: 12 hr shift, 2-2-3 rotation
  • Base rate: $29.15 - $38.71 based on demonstrated Technical Skill Level
  • Shift Differential: $0.35/hr 2nd Shift and $0.45/hr 3rd Shift

**Hands on and written skills evaluations are required for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Troubleshoot/Diagnose 3-phase, up to 480V causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operation equipment, utilizing standard electronic test equipment while referencing technical drawings and documents
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Documents time through work orders and creates notification within SAP CMMS system
  • Uses Quick Kaizens to help with completing root cause analysis
  • Helps to create BOMs for equipment by creating equipment ledgers
  • Create and update documentation of all types: schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams, maintenance logs, standard operating procedures, and instruction manuals, to keep documentation accurate, available and ready for use as needed.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • High School Education and/or AS or AAS Electrical/Electronic Technology Degree, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology or AS or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology or
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience and knowledge in maintenance disciplines, such as automated control systems, safety qualifications, and professional industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires adaptability, methodical/analytical problem solving skills, and employee leadership skills with the ability to effectively apply these skills in a manufacturing facility.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.
  • Basic typing skills and proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office, including Excel and or Office.

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Systems Technology.
  • ARC Flash Training
  • Familiarity with Lean/WCM principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Electrical Skills focused on, but not limited to:
  • Controls: VFD, Solenoids, Servos
  • Power Distribution
  • Field Devices: Limit Switches, Proximity Switches, Level Probes
  • Siemens, Allen Bradley Drives-Preferred
  • AC Motors & VFD
  • Diagnostic Tools: Meger Meter, Multi-Meter, Infrared Thermometer, Thermal Imager
  • Proficient in Rigid conduit bending and installation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

Sr. Manager EHS&S

As the Senior Manager of EHS&S, you will serve as the expert for Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) within Abrasives in North America, including Canada, Mexico, and the United States.   • Define digital design vision & strategic roadmap aligned with product, marketing, and UX goals. Own design direction for enterprise-level experiences including portals, websites, landing pages, and campaign destinations.
  • Lead and executes all UX and design stages from discovery to development, including user flows, journey mapping, usability testing, and behavior analytics to inform design decisions and drive measurable engagement improvements.
  • Develop and scale design system frameworks, ensure consistency across all platforms, and govern digital brand expression through reusable UI patterns and accessibility standards.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and supporting documentation that clearly communicate interaction models, content hierarchy, and digital functionality to product, IT, and development teams.
  • Keeps pace with new design and technology trends and understand when it is appropriate to apply new techniques to create a superior user experience.
  • Oversee content experience strategy and front-end design execution within CMS ecosystems (Drupal/WordPress/Adobe/etc.), optimizing for UX performance and conversion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in UX, Digital Strategy, or similar strongly preferred
  • 8+ years in progressively responsible digital design/UX roles.
  • A thorough understanding of visual design, hierarchy, information architecture, interaction models, and user experience.
  • Proven leadership in digital product/interface design within marketing, ecommerce, or SaaS environments.
  • A strong ability to incorporate effective copywriting into the digital user experience

Electromechanical Technician - The ideal individual will have experience manufacturing machinery and facility services including building and operating systems maintenance, repair and improvement and custodial services.   • Accountable for safe maintenance activities. Follow safety systems and procedures to employees and contractors such as LOTO, permits to work, safety audits etc.
  • Timely completion of breakdowns and answer radio calls
  • Works with the admin staff in the maintenance department to help, develop, identify needs based on parts, PMs, etc.
  • Completes work orders both request and PMs in a timely matter
  • Escalate to supervisor or manager when issues arise and critical items are needed for safety, operations, etc.
  • Drive 5S maturity in maintenance shop
  • Participates in new process/ project Early Equipment Management

This role will need to focus on cost savings, implementation and adherence to global compliance, timely ordering and inventory management for raw materials, and utilization of digital tools while providing timely service to our internal customers.

Plant Purchasing Responsibilities

  • Foster site compliance regarding the North American Purchasing Policy [NAPP], Purchasing’s Internal Controls Reference Framework [ICRF], Gift Policy, and Credit Card [P-Card] Policy.
  • Required to sign Purchasing Charter annually and ensure anyone with purchasing authority at the facility signs it as well.
  • Documentation Process Coordinator for files and records (i.e. Quotations, purchase orders, reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and audit guidelines.
  • Act as both a tactical and strategic Purchaser for the site and business unit.
  • Prioritize cost savings initiatives at the site.
  • Process purchase orders and notify vendors for requested materials, parts, and services which may include contract preparation, SGCT Drug & Alcohol Policy, and other requirements.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are acknowledged/tracked/closed timely and reviewed weekly for accuracy.
  • Execute and review monthly reporting to ensure proper site operations with the use of SAP.
  • Resolve invoice and GRIR issues in a timely manner by working with the vendor, AP, project managers, and requisitioners.
  • Manage Raw Material and Resale Material inventory while coordinating with vendors.
  • Regularly report inventory volumes and escalate any potential downstream service disruptions.
  • Work with the site to identify potential suppliers for projects, services, and materials.
  • Coordinate and lead all site-level RFPs for both local OpEx and CapEx purchases (per the requirements definition phase) which includes vendor negotiations through to the contract signature (if applicable), and PO creation.
  • Engage the plant’s technical teams early in the buying process to ensure compliance of purchasing methodology.
  • Oversee bid walks/meetings with project managers and contractors.
  • Utilize the company’s digital tools to ensure everything is bid out according to policy, vendors are validated, and savings/avoidance is properly tracked/reported.
  • Identify and manage cross-site and cross-business synergy opportunities to leverage negotiations and contracts.
  • Evaluate spend and develop portfolio to determine which vendors should be contracted along with action plan.
  • Utilize the law department library of contracts for all capital, equipment, and service transactions.
  • Negotiate, audit, and retain all agreements using CertainTeed’s document repository.
  • Drive compliance for MRO and Agora use at the site level.
  • Convene monthly meetings with plant requisitioners, receivers, engineers, and department managers to determine purchasing assistance and requirements.
  • Hold regular training sessions and monthly Purchasing meetings with the plant staff regarding Purchasing procedures.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in Saint-Gobain online and in-person training sessions, events, buy-techs, or meetings.
  • Participate in monthly purchasing staff meetings and conference calls.
  • Participate in plant level meetings as defined in the operations cadence.
  • Site audits of vendors and/or vendor tours when necessary.
