Essential Functions:

  • Plan, devise, design, and participate in the completion of capital and non-capital projects in any technical area of the plant to improve manufacturing capability, process control, product quality, and fixed or variable costs. Be the Engineering lead on all new product development projects coming for R&D.

 

  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, management, and all other functional areas. Participate in meetings to establish goals and priorities, improve alignment and manage utilization of resources. Maintain technical competence and keep informed on new developments in materials, process technology, and product applications to ensure that the most appropriate methods and materials are used.

 

  • Improve the overall plant efficiency and enhance profitability through the application of World Class Manufacturing principles using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools. Heavy focus on production and business system automation. Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce employee work content to 80% of their capacity. Develop solutions based on root cause analysis and implement action plans supported by documentation and data. Drive continuous improvement and enhance teamwork through the application of Lean tools and methodologies. Support MFG 4.0 initiatives.

Injection Molding Operator - 2nd Shift

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Injection Molding Operator will be responsible for the daily operations of the molding department on 2nd Shift (2:30p-11p). Which will include Mold Set-Ups, Thermoplastic Processing, Basic Machine Maintenance, heat treating and curing, and all aspects of Quality for each production run.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

Additionally, they should have knowledge of safety regulations and be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines efficiently for Production Jobs when scheduled.
  • Operate Injection Molding Machine, Auxiliary Equipment, Robots, Tumblers, and Packaging Machine as required.
  • Monitor machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time. Raising issues when needed.
  • Ensure manufactured parts conform to all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Complete all paperwork correctly and legibly.
  • Perform all tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Department Strategist.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School degree, GED, or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Injection Molding, Thermoplastic Processing, Set-up, Basic Machine Maintenance, and Robotics Operation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with various Injection Machines, Robotics, and Auxiliary Equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain high attendance standards and Production Schedules
  • Adherence to cleanliness standards, FOD, and 5S.
  • Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position, is $43,400 to $65,200. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Research Technician – Inorganic Materials & Processing

The Inorganic Materials and Processing group (IMP) at SGR North America is searching for a Research Technician. The IMP group supports Business Units in the development of ceramic powders and components for industrial applications including structural, thermal, electrical, and abrasive applications.

The Research Technician performs experiments involving ceramic processing and application testing of ceramic materials as well as the operation and maintenance of high temperature furnaces. This involves lab work, data acquisition, and/or product development activities with minimal supervision. He/she works with engineers and customers in solving problems related to ceramic processing or the performance of ceramic materials.   In addition, this position may also perform specialized technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating equipment and products for assigned areas.

Essential Functions

  • Operate and maintain high temperature furnaces used to process ceramic components.
  • Conduct experiments as assigned working with project leaders to develop new forming techniques, to conduct performance testing and to record data.
    • Primary areas of responsibility will be ceramic processing, measurement, and characterization.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment including set-up, operation and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments. Lead troubleshooting initiatives and machine repair efforts. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required and maintain 5S within labs.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent) required.

  • 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing or research required.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to collect, enter, plot and manipulate scientific data using Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

This position is located at our unionized wallboard plant on Annacis Island which operates 24/7.  The Production Supervisor works a 12hr shift on a 3 days on/3 days off – rotating from days to nights.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for creating a culture of engagement within and between the plant teams to directly impact and consistently meet plant objectives and deliverables.  This position is also accountable for ensuring that production teams work collaboratively in the decision-making processes and that the decisions are in alignment with plant goals and objectives, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards, Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI), safety requirements and current Human Resources (HR) guidelines.  Finally, the Production Supervisor is responsible for all activities at the site and acts as the primary point of contact in off-hours and on weekends in the absence of plant management.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Shift performance reporting as required
  • Communicating with other Production Supervisors to at shift changeovers.
  • Accurate and timely recording of production data through GXO and SAP.
  • Coaches and mentor operators by influencing behaviors to meet assigned objectives to improve plant performance.
  • Manages the performance operators to achieve targets across EHS, Quality, Production and WCM Progress.
  • Coordinates production operators’ participation in WCM / Lean projects as part of daily work expectations. Leads AM projects and Kaizen events.
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
  • Through coordination with other departments, leads production of drywall in a manner such that shipments meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure product is to specification and meets identified quality standards.

  • Develops and encourage innovative processes and equipment concepts along with follow through to Return on Investments (ROI) patents and / or proprietary intellectual property.

What’s the job?

Pay Transparency 

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $111,000 to $177,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $127,650 to $203,550.

The customer service representative (CSR) is responsible for managing the order to cash process. Receiving and placing the order to fulfillment and invoicing. The CSR is the voice for the customer and in all areas will not personally do the task but will support all internal teams to service the customer on time and in full. CSR will build relationships with business segment team members to collaborate to support business plans and provide solutions throughout the process.

Main responsabilities

  • Process customer orders within SLA requirements based on business unit. Advise customers of any changes made to their orders and/or shipping requirements.
  • Address pricing issues and ensure appropriate departments are aware of any order related issues.
  • Provide pre and post-sales support; provide knowledgeable answers to questions about products and availability; efficiently and effectively answer order status questions
  • Resolve customer complaints on product and service issues by: determining the cause and offering the best solution to resolve the problem; expedite correction or adjustment; follow up to ensure the matter was resolved
  • Collaborate with other departments (sales, planning, logistics, pricing and manufacturing plant team members) and utilize systems and processes to enhance the Customer experience.
  • Resolve customer issues at the time of original order entry with the appropriate personnel. Elevate to CS Management if required.

Requirements

  • College or University degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in Customer Service/ call center environment
  • 2-3 years of experience in the manufacturing/building material industry is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Customer and team focused attitude to help deliver on customer needs and overall team goals
  • High Attention to Detail. Good track record in Accuracy Performance
