Impact:

Mixer Operator- Produces batches of materials that are used in the manufacture of products including adhesives, urethane and PVC foams. Batch sizes may run up to 7,000 pounds. The Mixer follows SOPs, production schedules and standard formulas to meet internal and external customers' needs. Accuracy in the mixing operation is critical to quality, cost-effective production of materials use in further manufacturing processes. The Mixer works independently and as a member of a team.

Provides support to programs in Granville, NY within the defined continuous improvement framework, in a manner consistent with Saint-Gobain EHS Policies and Principles of Conduct and Action.

Employees are required to work overtime as scheduled. This includes before/after shift or weekend shift.

3rd Shift: Sunday night- Thursday night- 11:30 pm - 8:00 am

Pay: $22.28/hr to start plus $1.00 shift differential ($.75 increase in hourly rate after 6 months)

Each year, based on individual/business performance, employees have the potential to receive annual bonus in March and merit increase in April.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $22.28 per hour, plus shift differential of $1.00 /hr. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate, Bonus and Shift Differential, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $53,200.

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat en science du bois, en génie chimique, en science des matériaux ou dans une discipline connexe

  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience à titre d’ingénieur des procédés dans une usine ou en étroite collaboration avec une usine

What’s the job?

The incumbent will provide the Strongsville manufacturing plant, CertainTeed Architectural (CTA) group and corporate staff with operational and financial reports and analyses regarding plant operating results.  This position ensures that corporate and group financial procedures are followed and internal controls area in place.  The incumbent makes recommendations for profitability improvements and ensures that proper controls are utilized to protect the company’s assets.

Responsible for:

  • Prepare and record all necessary plant related journal entries
  • Managing the timely completion of the month-end financial close
  • Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a plant’s financial statements
  • Prepare all post closing plant financial analysis, performance reports and meaningful commentary
  • Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level
  • Lead and direct annual standard cost roll at plant for manufactured products
  • Prepare, maintain and analyze product and project costs
  • Maintain proper spending controls
  • Support the analytical needs of CTA Finance and other plant management staff
  • Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability
  • Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions
  • Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to plant issues
  • Ensure compliance with SGC, CertainTeed and CTA policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests and facilitate/monitor Capex project completions
  • Facilitate fixed asset capitalizations, transfers and retirements
  • Track cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Analyze and reconcile plant related balance sheet accounts
  • Support external, internal and statutory audits
  • Travel and support to other sites may be required
  • Ad hoc analysis

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CA, CMA, CGA or MBA preferable or equivalent, complementary work experience
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plant’s financial results
  • Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools and MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations
  • Effective communication and presentation skills are required
  • Capable of leading a process team and able to define clear vision, goals, and service standards
  • Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the location
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation
  • Experience with SAP an asset

  • Own the plant reliability KPI’s, stratifying the time losses and proposing the improvement activities to reduce the losses.

  • Ensure safety audits, risk assessments, SMAT’s, OSA’s are carried out by the Engineering teams, to the required timescale and standard.
  • Ensure WCM methodologies are understood and implemented by all Engineering personnel.
  • Control the maintenance budgets, and individual.
  • Develop and manage the capital budget and projects for the site, with the support from the local and central engineering team.
  • Delivery of planned capex requirements completed in full, on time and in budget.
  • Capex creation & submission.

Operate extruder machines to produce products which conform to part print. Assure products meet all quality specifications and are made according to the latest procedures and standards. Set up extrusion equipment to produce parts to specification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Set Up extrusion machines by installing dyes, machine screws, and sizing rings to manufacture parts according to specifications using approved set up sheets to cycle machines
  • Weigh materials and other specified ingredients per specifications/instructions and Load blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed
  • Operate extrusion machines to produce specified product according to customer specifications and ensuring Quality of the parts.
  • Inspect Parts for defects and make necessary corrections to troubleshoot them out of the process. Escalate when help is needed
  • Utilize the Manufacturing Execution System to update job data, material usage, locate process sheets, view prints, etc.
  • Measure Parts according to print guidelines using calipers, rulers, and other measuring devices.
  • Meet Productivity standards on a consistent basis. Escalate issues to management that will affect productivity.
  • Purge machines during the changeover process to ensure the machine is ready for the next cycle.
  • Set Up and Operate the cutter to cut tubing to specified dimensions.
  • Label and Seal Bags
  • Operate the auto winder removing spools f completed product and setting up the next spool to ensure proper operations of the auto winder
  • Set up the printer to properly label tubing per specifications
  • Suggest work instruction corrections/recommendations to help foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player. Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal

Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation. Operational knowledge of injection molding machines is preferred.

​PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

  • Extrusion Line Operator - Extruded Tape - The position is responsible for extruding raw materials into a film that is rolled up into roll form. Employee is responsible for the production, paperwork, and storage of the PTFE Film Extruded for their machine
  • Converting Operator - Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tapes - The position is responsible for the converting of log rolls of PSAT to smaller rolls. Employee is responsible for operating a rewind or lathe slitter to convert to customer specification and order

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

We are seeking candidates with the following:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • You will need to be reliable and punctual, able to perform physical tasks that are repetitive, and lift up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math and use basic hand held measuring tools.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • While prior manufacturing experience is preferred, we will provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $19.20 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate, Shift Differential and projected Bonus), annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $44,116.80.

Additional Pay Incentives for this Role Include:

  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
