THE ROLE
Kaycan has an exciting career opportunity for a Machinist based in Smith Falls to join our team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.
Shift: 12 hour shift / Rotate every two weeks
Starting Rate of Pay: $28/hour
Responsibilities
- Direct manufacturing equipment support and maintenance.
- Machine parts to specifications using lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, milling machines, or grinders for in house use.
- Measure, examine, and report on completed units to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision tooling.
- Inspect sample parts, assist developing drawings, to determine sequences of operations needed to machine products.
- Fabrication skills (Mig and arc)
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Follow Maintenance Manager and Supervisor direction and can prioritize tasks.
- Fabricate as required for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures, including quality and health and safety.

Requirements :
- Machining experience required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
- Repair machine tools and parts.
- Set up and adjust machines/tools.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to required tolerance.
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
